The purchase of this work of art has been co-financed under the Programmes of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Opened on 11th December, a new exhibition of the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk is devoted to the postulates drawn up by the Inter-Factory Strike Committee (IFSC) and written down on plywood boards in August 1980, from then on known as the Solidarity Boards. It has been prepared on the 10th anniversary of inclusion of the Boards in the Polish Register of the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme, which represents the most significant documents in the history of mankind.

Bogdan Zdrojewski, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, has endorsed the request of the Polish Maritime Museum in Gdańsk, the Museum Council, the Society of Friends of PMM and the Polish Nautological Society, and has changed the institution name to the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk. The new name has been in effect since 10th December 2013.
